Dear Members, dear Friends,
the President of the Associazione Internazionale di Studi Tardoantichi, Professor Lucio De Giovanni, the members of the Board of Directors with deep sorrow announce the sudden death of Professor Ugo Criscuolo, distinguished scholar of Greek and Byzantine literary world.
For many years full Professor at the University of Naples Federico II, of which he currently was Professor emeritus, among his many merits, Ugo was one of the founding fathers of Associazione Internazionale di Studi Tardoantichi, of which he was Member emeritus, and tireless and acute Director of the journal ΚΟΙΝΩΝΙΑ.
We are affectionately close to the family, to the students, to those who knew and loved him, in full awareness of the gravity that the loss of Ugo, both scientifically and humanly, also represents for our Association.
To all, in the sadness of the moment, our most cordial greeting and commitment to keep alive the values that Ugo has witnessed to us.
